Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. If your question isn’t covered, please call us on 01234 889977.

Do Click Doors have a showroom?

Yes. Our customers can visit our partner showroom at Kitchen & Bedroom Studio in Bedford by appointment to view a selection of doors and finishes. We are also developing our own showroom in Northern Ireland, which will be opening soon. In the meantime, free colour swatches and sample doors are available to help you choose at home.

How do I know if my existing cabinets are suitable for refurbishment?

Most kitchen cabinets can be reused if they are structurally sound and in good condition. Check for problems such as water damage, swelling, loose fixings or badly damaged carcasses before ordering replacement doors. If you are unsure, please contact us for advice.

Do Click Doors come out and measure my doors?

No. Click Doors is a supply-only company, so customers are responsible for measuring their existing doors before ordering. We provide a detailed measuring guide and worksheet to help you, and you can contact us if you need advice.

What unit of measurement do Click Doors use?

We always use millimetres or ‘mm’ for short as the unit of measurement on this website.

How do I measure my doors?

We find that the easiest way to measure your doors is by using the back of the door (as the back tends to be flat).
Measure from side to side (this gives you the width), and then, measure from top to the bottom (this gives you the height).
The measurements we use are millimetres or mm for short. Check out our full guide here

How do I see which way my door is hung?

As you look at the front of your kitchen unit. If your cabinet hinges are mounted on the left hand side, you will require a left hand hinged door. If your cabinet hinges are mounted on the right hand side of the unit you will require a right hand hinged door. Check out our measuring guide for more informaiton

How do I measure my hinge holes?

On the Click Doors website, our hinge hole measurements are always based on the centre of the hinge hole (rather than the top or bottom of the hole).
We would recommend measuring from the top of the door down to the first hinge hole and from the bottom of the door up to the first hinge hole. Check out our full guide here and our handy measuring worksheet.

What are Click Doors accessories?

These are decorative components used to complete the fitting of your cabinets. These include items such as plinths, end panels, cornice and pelmet.

Why is my door slightly smaller than my carcass?

This is completely normal. The door is slightly smaller to allow for opening clearance so the doors don’t make contact with one another when opening or closing.

Can Click Doors make doors in bespoke sizes?

Yes. We can make bespoke doors in most of our ranges, subject to minimum and maximum sizes. Check the relevant door style page for details, or contact us if you need advice.

Why can’t I find my end panel size?

We supply end panels slightly oversized so they can be cut and scribed to suit your specific installation. This allows your fitter to achieve the best possible finish.

How can I view Click Doors samples?

We offer free colour swatches so you can check the exact colour and finish at home. You can also order a £9.99 sample door to view the door profile, construction and finish in person. Sample doors are supplied in Light Grey and include your chosen colour swatch. You can also arrange to view a selection of doors at our partner showroom in Bedford.

Can I return unused items to Click Doors?

Unused stocked items can be returned provided they are in their original condition and packaging. Bespoke or made-to-order items, including doors drilled to your specified hinge positions, cannot normally be returned because they have been manufactured to your specification. Please see our returns policy for full details.

Is gloss or matt better for kitchens?

Click Doors have been asked this question many times. When deciding between gloss or matt for kitchens, you should weigh factors like maintenance, durability, and overall aesthetic appeal.

Matt kitchens tend to be easier for cleaning – especially when you think about how both finishes handle fingerprints.

High gloss kitchens tend to be better in small spaces as the finish is more reflective and therefore brighter.

There tends to be more colour and door style options available as Matt but think about trending styles, personal preferences, and cost comparisons.

The answer is ultimately a matter of personal preference!

Is glossy or matt better for kitchen cabinets?

When deciding between glossy or matt kitchen cabinets, consider reflective surfaces, light reflection, cleaning maintenance, modern aesthetic, and fingerprints visibility.

Reflective surfaces of glossy cabinets can create a sleek, modern look, but require more cleaning upkeep. Matt cabinets offer a more understated elegance, hiding imperfections well and needing less maintenance.

Ultimately, the choice depends on your personal style and how you want to balance maintenance and aesthetics in your kitchen design.

What are the disadvantages of a High Gloss kitchen?

Cleaning challenges in high gloss kitchens can become a hassle, with fingerprints easily visible and scratches more likely to show. Reflection effects can lead to non-uniform colours, affecting the overall appearance.

Maintenance requirements are higher due to the need for frequent cleaning to keep the shine intact. Consider these factors when deciding between high gloss and matt kitchens to ensure your choice aligns with your desired kitchen aesthetic.

Are High Gloss kitchens good?

The glossy finish not only adds a touch of elegance but also makes your kitchen feel brighter and more vibrant.

While they may require some cleaning maintenance to keep fingerprints at bay, high gloss kitchens are durable, and come in a variety of colour options to suit your style.
